Alianza and Level 3 – Taking Voice to the Cloud

Last week Level 3 Communications announced Carrier Cloud Voice, a new wholesale voice solution as part of a partnership arrangement with Alianza.

The solution combines Level 3’s Enhanced Local Service and Alianza’s cloud voice platform and mature APIs for back-office integration, billing and service management. This solution addresses Voice over IP (VoIP) and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) voice service requirements for residential, hosted business, SIP trunking and mobile.

The Level 3 ELS solution provides secure, high-quality transport and origination and termination services across the United States. It provides a number of essential building blocks such as Inbound and outbound calling, directory assistance, CNAM/caller ID and toll-free routing and covers nearly 7,000 rate centers and all 50 states. The Level 3 network is massive: it supports more than 13 billion voice minutes per month for 5 billion calls.

Together Alianza and Level 3 have built a turnkey voice network that service providers can leverage to rapidly deliver profitable voice services over any fixed or mobile broadband network. Carrier Cloud Voice is targeted at greenfield environments to enhance service portfolios as well as TDM migration or VoIP replacement scenarios to improve margins and manageability of the voice business.

As part of the expanded relationship, Alianza joins the Level 3 Technology Alliance Partner program. We have worked together with Level 3 since 2009 to help service providers migrate to VoIP with a clear business case. Working together we believe that this partnership transforms the economics of voice services market and change the game in how voice services are deployed and managed.
